I usually don't enter the political arena directly on this blog but here is an newly-released ominous piece of legislation that is co-sponsored by John McCain. Called the DSSA act it would give the FDA expanded powers to take supplements off the market at will and also reduce the doses allowed in vitamins and supplements to levels below therapeutic effectiveness. All in the name of protecting Big Pharma I suspect.
The only worthwhile piece in the bill is increased monitoring of adverse effects of supplements - as if there are many! There have never been deaths reported from supplements, unlike drugs.
I urge you to go to this webpage and submit a comment to John McCain or other members of the government who will be voting on this bill, about the effects this bill will have on curtailing your access to effective treatments, much safer than other options that he obviously supports.
