BOB & LYNDA are leaving on their summer vacation On Tuesday, June 15 at 5 pm. We will be back to work Monday, July 6. The staff will be in the office daily except the Fridays to take your calls and sell supplements.
Guess Who is Coming to Dinner was a famous movie with Spencer Tracy. So I ask you - guess who is coming to join us in Liberal this July?
On July 26 Dr. Sue Rodgman, MD will be joining us in the office. She worked here before we moved here in 1997 and in fact lived in the house Lynda and I now live in. To start she will be in our office Mondays and Fridays and in Hugoton Tuesday through Thursday. She will eventually take over our practice full-time when we finally retire in the "distant" future. She is eager to learn how we do what we do for our many patients.
You are all going to love her as we do. We are both excited and looking forward to this fantastic opportunity for us and our patients. We will begin accepting advance bookings to see Dr. Rodgman on July 5.
Lynda and I will be away from Thursday April 22 at noon until May 3. We will be back in the office Tuesday May 4. While we are away the staff will be in the office except on the Fridays to answer the phone for you and provide help. If you have refills for written prescriptions coming due during that time, let us know before we leave. Thanks,
Lynda and I are going to be out of the office from Wednesday Feb. 3 until Friday Feb. 12. The office will re-open Monday Feb. 15. Please check the refill dates of your prescriptions and do not run out while we are away. Our staff will keep the office open while we are away except on Friday Feb. 5 and Friday Feb. 12. I will be talking to them each day the office is open. However, I can not refill any written-only prescription while we are away.
For My Patients - Lynda and I are going to Puerto Vallarta for two weeks in November. We will be away November 14-28 and the office will re-open Monday November 30. We have been asked to be godparents for a man we know there who is getting married on November 21.
Please check your renewal dates on your prescriptions so you do not run out while we are away.
Lynda and I will be away on a short holiday from noon on Thursday Sept. 10 until Sept. 20. The office re-opens on Monday Sept. 21. The office staff will be here daily while we are away except on Friday, Sept. 18.
Please check refill dates on your prescriptions before we leave. Thanks
When I moved my office two blocks down the street in Liberal in April I thought it would be easy to update my address with all the necessary groups I deal with.
My medical license needed updating and that took a one page fax to the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. The same with my Oklahoma license and my Ontario medical license. Credit cards were also easily updated online. My DEA certificate only needed two pages faxed to St. Louis to update my address.
BUT to change my address with Medicare, the current government-run health care system for seniors, took a 45 PAGE form!. I had to refile my original application to become a Medicare provider just to change my office address. That turned out to be a journey in frustration for days on end as Medicare kept sending the form back for changes before they finally accepted it.
My point is to wonder if this is how efficient Obama's government-run health care system is going to be, will it be really cost-effective?? The price tag is 1.5 trillion dollars over ten years. How much of that will be wasted on inefficient administrative matters? Or, if it took 45 pages to register my change of address with Medicare for moving two blocks, how many pages would it take to move a city and register the change of address (tongue in cheek grin) ?
No we are not leaving or retiring, just moving our office. In early April we will re-locating to 2140 N. Kansas Ave. This is the office once used by Dr. Harrington and we are happy that Terry Rush is renovating it for us.
We hope to start the moving by Wednesday, April 8 and be ready to open by Monday, April 14. We will be closed from April 9 till then.
Final details will be in our office, posted here and of course be available by calling the office.
For my patients who take yearly flu shots - the first shipment has arrived. Please call to book your appointment for one. It takes about 6 weeks to develop immunity to the flu after the shot. We have had flu outbreaks here as early as late November and as late as February each year.
If you wish to read the government suggestions about who should be immunized with these shots go to this MSNBC article just posted - click here
To my patients - Lynda & I will be out of the office Thursday, August 28 until Monday, Sept. 8. Please check that your prescriptions do not renew during that time. Cassie will answer the phone during office hours those days. Thanks Bob & Lynda
