After viewing this site, I have had questions from many people about how I set up this site. I'm still surprised at how easy it has been, and how much fun also. I had been thinking about setting up a website for about 2 years because I wanted a new way to reach my patients and others out there looking for health info. But I always stalled on who to hire to do the site, how much to budget, and what I wanted it to look like.
Then this spring after surfing around the web I came across a pair of women calling themselves "The Blog Squad", who were publishing books and courses on getting your business on the web. So I purchased their eBook - "Build a Better Blog" and spent the first weekend in August following their step by step instructions to create what you see here.
My sole expense so far has been to purchase their book. The blog server - www.typepad.com is free to use. The email list service - Feedblitz - is also free to use. The book teaches you how to use all these services.
I already had the web domain name reserved - you can use just the Typepad address they supply you for free or register a domain name at www.GoDaddy.com for $8.95 a year.
I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone with a business to put on the web, or anyone who is thinking of creating a business on the web.
