I'd suggest you read this webpage

which talks about using bright light and melatonin to help adjust your circadian rhythm to shift work. It would be best if you did a series of shifts at night in a row and then changed back to days.

The light visor I recommend from northernlighttechnologies.com should be helpful as the bright light talked about at this web site.
