With all this in mind, do you have any suggestions for night workers?

I'd suggest you read this webpage

which talks about using bright light and melatonin to help adjust your circadian rhythm to shift work. It would be best if you did a series of shifts at night in a row and then changed back to days.

The light visor I recommend from should be helpful as the bright light talked about at this web site.
